SAPA , BAC HA, COC LY, XIN CHENG

Black hmong village of ma tra – half day (sapa – ma tra – sapa)

This trip commences with a short walk through the town of sapa and along a dirt trail through beautiful gardens and lush pine forests.you will then pass through the black hmong ethnic minority village of ma tra , a verry small village hidin away from civilisation. You continnue your walk through paddy fields and spectacular scenery.During the walk, you will also be able to visit a local school.From the school,you head to the church of Ta phin,where your car will take you back to sapa.

Approx: Grade 2 of 5/30 minutes driving/ 2,5 hours walking.

Valley walk through rice fields – half day (sapa – lao chai – ta van - sapa )

The sort journey will commence with a drive southwards Muong Hoa valley.you will then start your descending walk into the valley, which is largest paddy terrace in sapa area.The guide can provide you interesting information about rice and rice growing .if you visit the valley some time  in between May and October,you will be able to experience how the local do planting and harvesting,one of the most important activities in their daily life.The walk takes you from lao chai to ta van,including a visit to one of the local school,after  visiting Ta van the vehicel will take you back to sapa.

Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 40 minutes driving/ 2 hours walking .

Bac Ha market.

After having breakfast, you will travel by car to Bac ha ,which is 70 km from Lao cai city.the ride is relatively flat from lao cai to bao nhai,where you will taken rural area.Bac ha is the largest market in the area,situated inside the small town of Bac ha .on every Sunny morning,it is literally a riot of color as many diferent ethic groups such as fower hmong,phu la,black dao,tay ,nung gather to trade.After spending the whole morning exploring the market,your lunch will be served in local restaurant.after lunch you drive downhill for about half an hour.you will then start a short walk to Trung Do village which belong to Tay minority.Here you can visit traditional house before you getting on a motor boat trip.you will  have a cruise upstream Chay reiver then down to Bao nhai ,where you get on the car for the journey back.

Approx: 5 hours driving/ 1 hour boat cruise/0.5 hour walking.

Coc ly market.

After having breakfast you will travel by car to Bac ha,70kms of lao cai.The ride ,which is relatively flat from lao cai ,will take you through rural area,the road is rather rougher for the last 20 kms,you arrive in Coc ly market.Coc ly market is located by the Chay river,which flows from china.every Tuesday morning ,minorities from surrounding village such as flower hmong,black dao ,tay,nung gather  to sell and buy their products.after visiting market you travel by motor boat that is take about 1 hour down and then car waiting you in  other side,where you can get on car for journey back.
Approx: 5 hours driving/1 hour boat cruise/0.5 hour walking.

Xin Cheng market.

You will commence the trip rfom lao cai to the amazing Xin cheng market.The drive to the market takes quite a long time but in retunr through muotainuos area with breathtaking views.you arrive Xin cheng market when a wide range of local products are already shown up.this is one of the biggest coloful market in the north of viet nam.the ethnic minority groups such as flower hmong,phu la ,si la,tay,black dao ….gather here every Wednesdays.many people,who come rfom far away,have been starting their journey on foot from midnight with full of farm products. For many  of them ,the market is the most special day of a week that can not  be missed.you will enjoy market and cruise on Chay river after lunch on the way.
